Held on the eve of America’s 250th anniversary, the event comes as communities across the country continue to navigate recovery from increasingly severe and frequent disasters, including the Texas Hill Country floods, the Los Angeles fires, and Hurricane Helene.
More than 75 survivors from over a dozen states will gather in Washington, D.C. for two days of survivor-centered programming, advocacy, and storytelling, culminating in a public experience featuring 250 survivor stories from all 50 states on June 24 at the National Mall.
A storytelling project from Extreme Weather Survivors.

The Tour
It’s a countrywide, traveling art installation honoring the people, places, things and way of life stolen from us by extreme weather. We’re matching artists with survivors to create 30 movie sized posters representing the 30 million Americans who now say that “extreme weather has significantly harmed their lives.”
All events are presented in partnership with MA-MA and Waterwell
This looks like a scene from a movie.
But it's our real lives.
Floods. Fires. Hurricanes. Heat that won’t break.
If it feels like your season was stolen — you’re not alone.
Be part of the real story.
From the Community
Real people. Real stories.

Are you an artist?
We’re inviting artists of all mediums to contribute original work that reflects the human impact of extreme weather — fire, floods, deadly heat, and displacement. Your art will help amplify survivor voices and inspire action, with full credit given to contributors.
